Preparing for APSI

Preparing for In-Person APSI weeks

We are excited to welcome you to our campus this summer! If you are registered for Week 1 (June 23-26), Week 3 (July 14-17), or AP Capstone On-Site (July 14-17), we've outlined information to help you prepare for the APSI week.

Check-in

Check-in for Weeks 1 and 3 will be from 7-7:30 a.m. on the 1st floor lobby of the Julia Rogers Building (No. 13 on the campus map (PDF)). AP Capstone On-Site check-in will also be on the 1st floor lobby of the Julia Rogers building from 7:30-8 a.m.

Welcome remarks will immediately follow check-in at 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. respectively. Our staff will then lead you to your individual classrooms.

Parking, construction & other campus events

Free visitor parking is available in the Dorsey Lot. Accessible parking can be found at the rear of the Julia Rogers Building and Van Meter.

As you enter campus, follow the road through the gatehouse. Should the gate be closed, press the intercom button and let Campus Safety know you are here for APSI. Once past the gatehouse, make the first left. The Dorsey Lot is on the right. There will be signs posted around campus to guide you throughout the week—be on the lookout for them!

The Hoffberger Science building is undergoing construction this summer. Please be aware of parking lot closures and restricted walking areas. You may expect a level of noise throughout the building equivalent to a city street.

Please be aware there are other summer programs happening on campus along with APSI so parking may be limited and the dining hall may be crowded on certain days. We will inform you of alternate parking options should the Dorsey lot be filled.

Coffee & lunch

Coffee and tea will be provided every morning until 11 a.m. on the 1st floor lobby of the Julia Rogers building. Lunch will be provided daily from 12-1 p.m. at the Mary Fisher Dining Hall (No. 15 on the campus map (PDF)). Coffee is also available in the dining hall.

On-campus resources

College Store

Located on the 1st floor of the Athenaeum (the building across from the dining hall), the college store will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with adjusted hours on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The store has more Goucher College merch as well as snacks and general supplies.

Library

The library is located within the Athenaeum, on the 3rd and 4th floors. It will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Campus Safety

The Office of Campus Safety is located in Heubeck Hall (No. 11 on the campus map (PDF)). Should you need assistance from Campus Safety, please call 410-337-6111. More information about our emergency procedures can be found on the Campus Safety webpage.

Dress code

There is no dress code; most people dress casually. Weather in Maryland tends to be hot and humid during this time of year. We suggest bringing clothes to layer for air-conditioned classrooms, and umbrellas or ponchos in case of rainy weather.

College Board materials

For APSI Weeks 1 and 3, you will receive printed College Board materials on the first day of the week. Should there be shipping delays, we'll make sure to send the materials to you as soon as possible.

Credit changes

If you opted to earn graduate credit or decide to change from non-credit (audit) to credit or vice versa, send an email to apsi@goucher.edu by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24 for Week 1 and Tuesday, July 15 for Week 3 informing us of your intent to change your credit status. You will receive a form to complete and instructions on how to submit additional payment, if applicable. You may also stop by our office in room 204 in the Julia Rogers building.

Please note: Graduate credit is not available for AP Capstone training.

Grades (graduate credit only) & requesting transcripts

To earn the graduate credits, you must complete all related assignments by the deadline shared by the AP consultant teaching your course. Grades are due within two weeks of the last day of the course; you can view your grade on the myGoucher portal. We recommend requesting transcripts after grades have been posted or selecting the option to send the transcript once grades have been posted.

To request official transcripts, see Request a Transcript. Please note that there is a $10 fee for requesting an electronic transcript.

Canceling a registration

If you are no longer able to attend, you may receive a refund minus the $95 cancellation fee if you notify us by email no later than 24 hours before the start of the APSI week.
