New Student Programs

Welcome to Goucher College! You're probably excited (and maybe a little nervous) about coming to college. There are so many new things to see, do, and learn on campus. But you probably have a ton of questions, which is why the Office of New Student Programs is here for you!

The Office of New Student Programs is available by email and telephone. We work with our new and incoming students to help through this transition and are available to answer any question or address any concern.

Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. EST

Contact: Ms. Michele Hosey, Director of New Student Programs,,

The Office of New Student Programs employs a staff of current undergraduate student Goucher Guides who serve as your hosts on campus through the New Student Orientation program and as part of your First Year Experience course, FYE 134. You'll meet your assigned staff member at fall orientation, beginning August 19.

The Goucher Guide staff is lead by three fantastic Lead Goucher Guides, Mya, Briana, and Jordan!

Your journey to beginning your Goucher College experience starts with the The New Student Roadmap. This checklist is your guide to the steps you will complete prior to your arrival on campus in August.

You'll arrive on campus for Move-In, which is August 19, 2023. You'll receive your time for arrival (if living on campus) from the Office of Residential Life. Here's a brief list of what (and what not) to pack! If you are a commuting student, please join us on campus to check in for New Student Orientation at 3 pm on August 19.

Next up, you'll attend New Student Orientation. This very important program is your official welcome to Goucher College, introducing you to traditions, important people and places, as well as outlining requirements and showing you "the ropes" of coming to Goucher College.

Participate in Welcome Celebration on Wednesday, August 23. Don't forget to wear your class colors t-shirt!

Our first day of school is Thursday, August 24

Here are some other opportunities for you to become acclimated and feel at home faster at Goucher College:

  • Student life. Find out more about the many ways to be active and engaged on campus and beyond.

  • Upcoming events. Come hear world-class speakers, or go see your friends' performances. There's always something to do here!

  • Virtual tour. Start exploring campus, things to do around Baltimore and DC, and even where you might study abroad.

We're excited to welcome you to campus!
