With the transition of Dr. Jasmine Lee, the Office of Equity & Inclusive Excellence will be led in an interim basis by Dr. Isabel Moreno-López. Dr. Isabel Moreno-López is a professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies and the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Studies, and she has been at Goucher since 2002. During AY24-25 and AY25-26, Dr. Moreno-López will support programmatic and academic functions of LAUNCH, Title IX, Religious and Spiritual Life and CREI; coordinate a SPIRIT Council with the objective of building the capacity for sustainable dialogue facilitation and implementation of solutions for issues identified within the Goucher community; and work with SGA to work the landscape of accessibility at Goucher, explore pain points, determine priorities and make recommendations. Finally, Dr. Moreno-López will continue working with Cabinet members to uphold Goucher´s core principles in a community inclusive of all.

Melissa Alexander possesses a decade in higher education with previous experiences in residence life, opportunity and access, and student life. As an individual and professional, Melissa values a positive attitude, collaboration, communication, respect, and hard work. Melissa is a proud graduate of the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), a program like LAUNCH, which afforded her the opportunity to pursue an undergraduate education. Melissa’s personal experience in HEOP and professional experiences supporting other opportunity programs inform her current work with the LAUNCH Scholars Network.
Originally from Binghamton, NY, Melissa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Siena College and Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. Melissa enjoys all things basketball and can be found watching basketball or playing NBK 2K. She also enjoys watching documentaries, The Golden Girls, and online shopping for new socks!

Catia Rembert

Catia Rembert is a Philadelphia native passionate about education and creating welcoming and affirming environments for students. Her background includes a B.A. in communication studies and an M.S. in higher education policy and student affairs from West Chester University. As the director for equity & inclusive excellence, Catia leads programming and initiatives that help to create a culturally aware and inclusive Goucher community. Resources and programming offered in the Center for Race, Equity and Identity (CREI) include – The Gender Affirming Closet, Preferred Name Policy, Affinity Spaces and Graduation Ceremonies, and Registered Student Organization Advising. Catia also oversees Religious & Spiritual Life (RSL), which includes religious accommodations, RSL student workers, and the Uber business account that provides students with transportation to attend religious services.
