ACE Testing Center Policy
The Testing Center provides an accessible, reduced distraction testing environment
only for students registered with the Office of Accessibility Services who have approved testing accommodation due to a disability. To request a testing
accommodation, please see the Accomodations and Services page.
Information & instructions for students
To ensure smooth scheduling and support, students must submit test requests to the Testing Center at least 72 business hours in advance. Testing Center hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday only.
Please keep the following in mind:
- Students do not have access to any materials during their test, which includes laptops, calculators, writing tools, and paper. Students with an accommodation for “use of computer for word processing” will use an Academic Center PC, and our staff will print the completed exam for submission.
- Students with a memory aid are instructed to create one with a faculty member. Memory aids should not compromise an essential element of the test. Faculty should attach the approved aid to the test or email it to ace@goucher.edu.
- A student's allotted, extended time begins at the scheduled test time. If a student arrives late, they will lose part of their extended time.
- If a student has a medical or family emergency, they must email their professor and the Office of Accessibility, (access@goucher.edu) for approval to move the testing date.
- Students will leave all unapproved materials (cell phones, coats, backpacks, notebooks, papers) outside of the testing center.
- The Academic Center will notify the faculty member if the student does not show up to take their test.
- Tests can be scheduled starting at 9 a.m. and must be completed by 4pm.
- The Academic Honor Code (PDF) will be in effect.
