Fall 2021 Applicants

We understand that life is changing day by day as we all navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. As we understand more about what the future holds, we will make adjustments to our admissions process and requirements and update this page accordingly.

Required supplemental materials for admission include:

Common Application

Supplemental Materials
  • the essay portion of the application
  • official high school transcript (grade 9 and up), listing courses in progress
  • secondary school report with a letter of recommendation from your college counselor or advisor
  • recommendation letter from an academic teacher (English, math, science, foreign language or social studies)

Optional supplemental materials:

You are welcome to include any other form of submission you would like to add to your application that shows your talents, abilities, or interests. Submissions could take the form of video, school project, art portfolio, performance, essay, or any other format that allows you to tell more of your story. An additional submission is absolutely voluntary, and applications that do not include this option will not be disadvantaged.

Standardized Tests

Goucher has been test-optional since 2006. This means submitting scores for the SAT and ACT is optional when applying for admission. You must indicate on the application supplement your preference for use of test scores in determining admission.

Goucher allows students to submit screenshots or PDF score reports downloaded from the College Board or ACT website. If submitting a screenshot, it must include your name, test date, and all score values. Test scores can be uploaded directly into the Admissions & Financial Aid Status Portal to which you will be granted access after you submit your application.

Although you may elect not to submit scores as part of the process that determines admission, please be aware all admitted applicants who matriculate must furnish (if taken) test scores for research and advising purposes.

Students with outstanding academic records who will have completed fewer than eight semesters of secondary school by their desired matriculation date may apply for Early Admission.
