Group Classes
Mat Classes
Group mat classes focus on the mat sequences developed by Joseph H. Pilates. They are a wonderful introduction to the method and are also a perfect supplement to private instruction. All classes are leveled and advancement to the next level is by instructor's approval only.
Appropriate knowledge of mat exercises, sequences and Pilates terminology is a prerequisite for mat class advancement. The mat exercises require no special equipment and once learned can be performed anywhere. Group mat classes are not suggested for individuals with serious injuries or health problems. Mat classes are held in Room 162.
Makeup Classes
Missed mat classes can be made up by taking a class at your level or below before the end of the session. Makeup classes can be completed before or after the missed class. Makeups do not roll over and are not transferable.
Tower Classes
Tower classes are based on the matwork, with the addition of apparatus work to challenge and strengthen. Tower classes are limited to three clients per class, which allows for more personal attention from the instructor. Due to the limited size of these classes, 24 hours notice for any cancellation is required to avoid being charged. Tower classes are held in the Apparatus Room, Room 102.
Makeup Classes
Missed tower classes can be scheduled by emailing pilatescenter@goucher.edu if openings are available. Makeup tower classes are not guaranteed. You may also make up one tower class with two regular mat classes at your level or below. Makeups do not roll over and are not transferable.
Refunds, Withdrawals, and Credits
For all mat and tower classes, any client who withdraws before the first class will be given a refund or credit, less a $25 processing fee. Refunds cannot be given after the first class, but credits can be issued upon the date of client notification, less a $25 processing fee. A credit must be used by the end of the next mat or tower session.
