The Pilates Center Guidelines

Welcome to the Pilates Center!

Now that we are open again for in-person private sessions and group classes, we wanted to share a friendly reminder about our Center Guidelines.

We truly appreciate your continued support throughout this unprecedented time. We are so thankful for each of you and this Pilates community we have built together.

As always, please email us with your questions. We are so excited to start practicing Pilates with you again!

24-Hour Cancellation Policy

Lesson cancellation must be given with 24 hours notice to avoid full charge for the lesson. Please do not come for your lesson if you are showing any COVID-19 symptoms or otherwise feel unwell. We are willing to make exceptions but we do ask for your consideration in canceling.

Please process payment via Mindbody before your lesson in order to confirm your lesson. Payment can also be arranged by emailing

All clients are required to wear socks on their feet. We suggest that you wear workout clothing in which you can move freely and comfortably. If you choose to wear shorts, please wear long ones.

Clients are required to bring their own (small) towel to lay down on equipment. If you are interested in purchasing a towel specifically for the reformer, we recommend this Non-Slip Pilates Reformer Towel from Salt & Honey.

These items are required to participate and can no longer be provided by the studio.

When You Come For Your Lesson

Our small waiting room is available as well as restrooms located next to the apparatus studio and the locker rooms. Please wait outside the studio until your instructor is ready for your session or class. Please do not enter the building from the front entrance, but walk around the outside perimeter of the building and enter directly into the Pilates studio.

For information on how to access the studio once on campus, view our How to Visit video.

Located in the Decker Sports and Recreation Center (SRC), The Pilates Center has reserved spaces in the smaller lot located between the tennis courts and our studio. However, parking is permitted in any spot surrounding the SRC.

Please DO NOT park in the fire lanes or where there is not a spot to avoid being towed.

For directions to campus and parking information check out the Location & Parking page.

Inclement Weather

The Pilates Center follows the closings and delayed openings of Goucher College. An alert will be placed on Goucher's homepage to announce a closing or time at which the college will open. For example, if the college opens at 10am, the 8:15 and 9:15am mat classes will be canceled. If in doubt, please email

All private lessons will be canceled when the college is closed. In the case of a delayed opening or early closing, please contact your individual instructor.

If the College is open, all sessions and classes will run as regularly scheduled. The 24 hour cancelation policy applies, please reach out to your instructor to cancel your session, if needed.

Studio Safety and Cleaning Procedures

Clients must clean their own equipment after each session. Before the beginning of each new session, the equipment will be cleaned by the instructor as an extra precaution. Night-time cleaning will also occur.

As always, we have our Air Oasis. This ionic air purifier and surface sanitizer reduces unwanted contaminants using AHPCO® and Bi-Polar® ionization technologies to break down pollutants on a molecular level. This is a precaution we have always used and will continue.

Our studio is air conditioned, and we will be keeping our external door open to keep the fresh flow of air in the room and using our beloved dehumidifier.

Health Form

New clients must complete the Pilates Health Form before their first class.
