Document Requirements for Students Seeking On-Campus Employment

Dear Gophers,

As we prepare to welcome you to campus, we wanted you to be aware that, due to recent changes in federal employment regulations, ALL STUDENTS – whether new to Goucher or returning – will be required to complete the federal form I-9 and provide documentation of their eligibility to work in the United States in order to hold on-campus employment positions during the Fall 2023 semester or at any point thereafter. This requirement will apply to all student employees, even those who have previously completed the I-9 for on-campus employment.

Please refer to this List of Acceptable Documents (PDF) that can satisfy the requirements of the I-9. Please be sure to bring the right combination of original documents with you as you prepare to return to campus this fall! No electronic or paper copies will be accepted. Once you secure a position, you will be prompted to complete the first section of the I-9 electronically in Workday, our HR system, and a schedule will be distributed of the times during which you can present your supporting documents for review by Goucher’s Office of Human Resources.
