MS003 Isabella Thoburn College Collection, 1920-2005
The Isabella Thoburn College Collection, 1920-2005, consists primarily of correspondence between Goucher registrars, academic deans, and presidents and Isabella Thoburn administrators. These concern visits between the alumnae and faculty of the two colleges; issues of the school’s quarterly newsletter Chand Bagh Chronicle (originally called the Lal Bagh Chronicle), 1921-1974 (incomplete), articles and publications on the history of the school, and some photographs. MS 0024 Brownlee Sands Corrin Collection
Audio and video cassettes, records, books and other written media from the personal and professional collection of Brownlee Corrin, late Communications and Political Science professor at Goucher College. Corrin spent much of his adult life compiling this collection, which he used to supplement his teaching, political interest, and community involvement. These materials chronicle over two decades of American life and society through vivid examples of popular culture.
MS 0030 Joseph Morton Papers
Correspondence, photographs, clippings, and other materials record the life and work of Joseph Morton, a professor of philosophy at Goucher College from 1963 to 2000 and peace activist. The majority of the collection focuses on his creation of the Peace Studies Department at Goucher and Morton’s peace activism work which features extended correspondence with nonviolent resisters in prison and Death Row prisoners. The Brooke Peirce Collection, 1902-2003 includes a variety of materials documenting the life and research of Brooke Peirce. Records and resources on dance/movement therapy from Arlynne Stark, a dance/movement therapist, past president of the American Dance Therapy Association, and the former director of Goucher College’s Dance/Movement Therapy graduate program. The collection includes course notes and documents, research publications, video recordings, and materials from conference presentations and workshops.
