  • No overnight guests may be hosted in rooms including other Goucher students not approved to stay on campus during the break.
  • All college policies and procedures remain in effect during the break. Any violation of the Student Code of Conduct may result in immediate removal from campus until the residence halls re-open.

Winter Break Housing & Early Arrival

All students who wish to return to campus before January 29, 2022 must register for January housing. Specific rates can be found here. Housing rates are based on the room type and not the length of time a student stays on campus during January term.

Please keep in mind, the period between December 24th, 2021 and January 2, 2022 has been designated as a blackout period where no student will be allowed on campus for any reason.

Spring Break Housing

The residence halls close for Spring Break on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 10:00 am and will reopen on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. Residents should coordinate their travel plans to vacate the halls by that time.

Before you depart, we ask that you prepare your room for checkout by completing the following:

  1. Please remove food and all garbage from your room. This is very important because open food containers and garbage are a prime cause of rodent and insect infestations.
  2. Close and lock all windows and reinsert screens that are not in place.
  3. Take home all pet birds, fish, and approved ESAs.
  4. Take home all valuables.
  5. Turn off and unplug all electrical appliances (computers, lights, fans, alarms, etc.). However, you do not need to defrost or unplug your refrigerator during spring break.
  6. Clean up your room as best as possible. This includes removing any clothing and papers from the floor. In the event of a facilities emergency, a cluttered room impedes our ability to address the problem.
  7. Lock your door!!!
