Where did you live during your first year at Goucher? Wagner House (Stimson Hall)
Favorite vacation: Costa Rica. My grandmother had just moved back after living in the United States for 10 years, and so my family took all of our cousins and her sightseeing around Costa Rica. We visited volcanoes and beaches, rode horses, and had an overall amazing time!
Favorite spot on campus: Hoffberger Science Building. I have spent enough time in Hoffberger that I have grown to love it. There are a lot of stairs, so it is always a good way to put in a workout while going to class.

What is your number one piece of advice for new Goucher students? Take pride in being a new Gopher! This is your new home- get involved and transform it into a community that further expands the Goucher Community Principles! Many people wish they were fortunate enough to attend a private university in the United States, so take advantage of this opportunity. Have an open mind when meeting people and try to learn a little bit about everyone you meet. Most of all, enjoy your time here!

Where did you live during your first year at Goucher? Welsh Hall
What is your favorite dessert? My favorite dessert starts off with a hot cookie at the bottom of the bowl. That cookie is surrounded by Reese's chunks and hot fudge. On top of the cookie is Reese's Ice Cream with chocolate syrup beautifully across the top. There is also whipped Cream on top of the ice cream with a cherry on top.
If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich? I would be rich from teaching and being an educator. I would love to teach about topics of social injustice against the LGBT community and people of color.
What is your number one piece of advice for new Goucher students? Only take 8:30 a.m. classes if you can handle waking up early and if you are a morning person. Just because you did it in high school does not mean you can do it in college.

If you were famous, what would you be famous for? I would be famous for making the best scrambled eggs.
What is one piece of advice you would give to the Class of 2020? Take advantage of opportunities, step out of your comfort zone and try new things, learn how to be comfortable being uncomfortable, and most importantly—practice self-care and self-love—be kind to yourself!

What is the best job you have ever had? Teaching Assistant for pre-kindergarten children.

What is your number one piece of advice for First-Year Students? Be yourself! Do not strip away who you are your first year, just add to who you are.

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing (besides money), what would it be? Food (so I can feed the homeless everyday)

What is your number one piece of advice for First-Year Students? Get out and about! The public transportation is pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it and there are so many cool things to do and places to go.
What did you want to be when you were growing up? An astronaut on Monday, a scientist on Tuesday, a dentist on Wednesday, a painter
on Thursday, a ballerina on Friday, a book writer on Saturday, an astronomer on Sunday.
What is your favorite movie? The Princess Bride (I have seen it over fifty times and can recite the entirety of it, including the music and sword clinks, verbatim)
What would your superpower be? Teleportation because all of my favorite people live very far away from me and it's not okay.

Activities: I am involved in UMOJA-the Black Student Union, The African Student Association, the Goucher Women of Color club, and I worked with the Centre of Race,Equity, and Identity.
What is the best job you have ever had? I worked at a children's home in Jamaica and it stressed me out, but also taught me a lot so that was pretty great.
Illustrate your perfect day. FOOD, never-ending food, and a vampire diaries/originals/throwback disney movie marathon with all my friends, then zip lining or white water rafting, and a good party at the end with dancehall/soca/African music.
What is your favorite book? I honestly enjoy reading any history book or any book relating to politics, world conflicts, the judicial system or any book with an adventurous and unexpected plot (Harry Potter).
If you were famous, what would you be famous for? Stalking Nick Jonas and Alicia Keys
If you could paint the sky, what would you paint on it? "It's not worth it." I would paint that phrase because I feel like sometimes we easily stress and worry over things that are not worth our sanity and we need to be reminded of that. Our health comes first. I also love Spongebob so I would make the clouds be flowers like in the show!

What is your number one piece of advice for First-Year Students? Do not be afraid to seek out help if you need it and take a chance. College is the
place to mess up with less risk than in the real world after.
If happiness was the natural currency, what kind of work would make you rich? Work that involves making positive change for the next generation, has interactions with youth, and helping others. This is why I want to become a teacher.
If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing (besides money), what would it be? Dessert, happiness, and stuffed animals/real animals (includes lions, panthers, cats, dogs, squirrels, chipmunks)
What would your superpower be? To hug people's problems and burdens away without taking them on myself or to make people understand others perspectives through a simple touch on the forehead

What is your number one piece of advice for First-Year Students? Stay focused on your academics, but when you get stressed out or sick take care of yourself. Self-care is very important.

What are your plans for this summer? I have a fellowship through the Roosevelt Institute to write a policy encouraging Goucher to procure from Local, Woman and minority owned businesses.

Major: English with a concentration in Secondary Education
Activities: Gopher Brass (I play the trumpet), Goucher Orchestra, Humans Vs. Zombies. I also like to read, enjoy nature, play tennis, draw.
Instagram or Snapchat? Um, Facebook all the way! I am a proud proponent of Facebook-- I have an old soul. Or at least, I have a Mom Soul.
Favorite spot on campus? There is a hill next to the academic buildings that has two wooden chairs, and I like to go there during the golden hour and watch the sun go down sometimes. Next to the chairs are some pretty good climbing trees, too.
What is something weird that you do? Um, own a flip phone. It's cheap. It's vintage. It has Tetris.
What is your favorite dessert? My favorite dessert is cheesecake, in every variety. Also-- chocolate peanut butter ice cream. Also, chocolate chip cookies. Also, every dessert.

What are your plans for this summer? I will be working at an ice cream store, helping out at SMYAL (a LGBT youth leadership organization in DC), and helping my dad with his garden.
If you were famous, what would you be famous for? My encyclopedic knowledge of the Harry Potter series and Bioware video games.
What is a piece of advice that you would give to the Class of 2020? The most important part of college is the relationships you build! Education is important, but friendship is straight up the most powerful force on Earth.

What are you doing this summer? This summer I will be working A LOT and spending time with my family, my new kitten, and my boss's new puppy. I'm also going to Rome, Italy for a week to visit a friend who was a foreign exchange student at my high school!
What would your superpower be? My super power would be to manipulate matter, because then I would be able to transport anything or anyone anywhere. Knowing me, I would specific foods from around the world appear in front of me.
What are your favorite TV shows? My favorite TV shows include Orange is the New Black, Grey's Anatomy, House, Dexter, Bones, Castle, New Girl, and so many, many more.
What is your favorite dessert? My favorite dessert changes every time I answer the question, but right now, I think my favorite dessert would be sea salt caramel gelato from Gelato Fiasco in my hometown.

Activities: Other than being a first year mentor, I have two jobs in the library processing new books and processing InterLibrary Loan books. I am also in the Bollywood Dance club, G.E.A.R., Sign Language Club and Agricultural Co-op.
What is your favorite dessert? I love blackberry pie with vanilla ice cream. When I was a kid my grandmother made the best blackberry pie. My whole family would go pick wild blackberries along the highway and bring them back for her to make pie out of. My brother makes blackberry pie now that is almost as good.
What is your favorite book? Ah! I have too many favorite books. But a couple of them would be the Harry Potter Series, The Things They Carried, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Invisible Man (by Ralph Ellison) and To Kill a Mockingbird.
What is something weird that you do? I'm pretty much always wearing sunglasses. Like even at night or sometimes inside I'm still wearing them. I just forget that I still have them and I wear them all the time.

Activities: I am a part of the Social Justice Committee and Equal Access.
What are your plans for this summer? This summer, I am working at Lacoste in SoHo as a sales associate, as well as traveling to Kosovo in August to see my family!
If you could have dinner with a famous person, deceased or alive, who would it be and why? Abel, The Weeknd! I fell in love with his music 5 years ago, and seen him twice in concert. If I can have dinner with him... well that would make a super nice Instagram photo.
What is the best job you have ever had? During high school, I was a personal cook for an elderly couple. I would go to their apartment every night and cook dinner! It was my favorite job because I got to do what I love to do on my free times! Also I meet two amazing people who have taught me so much.
What makes you laugh the most? Anything really, I'm always laughing. But when I need a good laugh, I like to watch really bad romantic films or read really bad jokes

Best job you ever had? I worked at Rita's Italian Ice for three years and I had way more Ice than I should have. It was amazing. Except when I accidentally hit a woman with a door.
Illustrate your perfect day: I wake up, have an omelet and a mango, sit in the sun, take a bath, take a nap with my cat, drive around blasting music, and stare at the stars at night

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing (besides money), what would it be? Days where things go right. Just like everyone, a lot has gone a way that it really should not have, so I would have days where everything goes right so that I would never have two days in a row where things go wrong.
What did you want to be when you were growing up? I have always wanted to be a dad.
What is your number one piece of advice for new Goucher students? Don't give up when it gets tough. I went from daily plans to leave, to weekly plans, to monthly plans, and it wasn't until the end of July leading into sophomore year that I decided I would stay for the long haul. College isn't easy- a lot goes into it far beyond what is required in a classroom- but it is important and some difficult times shouldn't stop the entire journey.

If you could paint the sky, what would you paint on it? Probably a sun in the corner wearing sunglasses, since that's about as far as my artistic ability goes.
What are your plans for this summer? Working, actually getting my driver's license, going to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with my family, writing, and watching as many movies OnDemand movies as I can.
What would your superpower be? My superpower would definitely be the ability to locate anything I've lost, (essentially, being able to use the Accio spell from Harry Potter and summon the lost thing) since I lose things quite a bit.
What is the best job you have ever had? A few years ago, I got to play a witch on a Halloween Hayride at a local farm. It was great because we could design our own costumes and got to tell corny Halloween jokes for hours.

Favorite vacation? My favorite vacation that I have ever been on was to the Grand Canyon. Me and my whole family rode mules to the bottom of the Canyon, slept over at the bottom overnight woke up, and rode back to the top. It was a wild experience and one of the most unique trips I have ever been on.

What makes you laugh the most? My friends make me laugh the most. Even in typically mundane situations being with my friends can make anything a good time.
What would your superpower be? Flying would definitely be my superpower. Flying would allow me to go anywhere I want in a moment's notice. It would also do a lot to ameliorate the cost of travel.
Favorite vacation? When I was younger I went to Italy and Hungary for a family reunion. It was my first time out of the U.S. and the only time I have been to Europe. When I was in Italy I am pretty sure the entire time I only ate pizza and mango gelato.
Favorite spot on campus? The old equestrian fields are by far the most beautiful spot on campus. The hiking trails around that area are so peaceful and very enjoyable in the warm weather.

What is a piece of advice that you would give to the Class of 2020? Don't stress too much. Have fun, laugh a lot, and take every opportunity to learn and grow.
What is the best job you have ever had? I used to serve and cut (and then eat) wedding cake and get paid for it!
Illustrate your perfect day. My perfect day is a sunny day, that starts with a hike with my friends and family to a beach or other body of water, where we swim, read, eat, laugh, and enjoy each others company.
