In recognition of their continued commitment to teaching excellence, student success, research in their academic disciplines, and service to build the College through shared governance, four Goucher College faculty members have been promoted to the rank of full professor.

The Maryland Transit administrator who oversaw Purple Line construction has been chosen to lead the Vancouver transit agency.

For outstanding efforts in academics, mentorship and leadership, Lalissie Eteffa '21 was named the recipient of The Maryland Daily Record's Top 100 Women Circle of Excellence Scholarship and Award. Her leadership roles on campus include the Black Student Union president and working as part of the Goucher Women of Color Coalition, the Student Engagement Team, Model UN, the Futuro Latino Learning Center, and as a First-Year Mentor.

Her writing, presentations and appearances have imparted an appreciation and awareness of the art of Japanese bonsai and the history of the cherry blossom trees, which remain an enduring symbol of the Japan-U.S. friendship.
