Goucher College’s commitment to an innovative curriculum, global education, and hands-on career experiences is highlighted in the new season of The College Tour, which premieres in May. In addition to streaming on Amazon Prime Video, the episode featuring Goucher College will be available on IMDbTV and The College Tour apps.

Each episode of The College Tour tells the story of what life is like on college campuses across the country and the world. The College Tour is hosted by Alex Boylan, who won CBS’s The Amazing Race and has produced and hosted shows on PBS, CBS, and the Travel Channel. The episode shines a spotlight on Goucher’s close-knit and supportive community, the college’s location in a vibrant city, and students’ opportunities throughout their time at Goucher. Boylan visited Goucher’s campus in October 2021, and Goucher’s episode of The College Tour features 10 students and alumnae/i.

In Goucher’s episode, Natalia Romero Torres ’22 talks about the professors who know students by name, Yazan Alasadi ’22 highlights the research opportunities students have at Goucher, Lydia Bailey ’24 shares her experience with Goucher’s close-knit community, and Nicholas Enoch ’23 discusses the global advantage his education is giving him to succeed.

“The episode truly brings to life what it means to be a Goucher student and will give prospective students unique insights into what their Goucher experience could look like,” says Jonathan Lindsay, vice president for enrollment management at Goucher College.

The College Tour also looks at Goucher beyond the classroom. Lucy Covington ’24 talks about her experience with Goucher athletics, Ava Kemp ’22 shares how Goucher’s location outside of Baltimore offers cultural and career opportunities, and Rachel Leeds ’22 discusses the support Goucher offers to all students as they become who they are meant to be.

“The impact of Goucher’s rigorous academics, 100% study abroad, career-relevant experience, and supportive community are all personified by these students and alumnae/i,” says Lindsay.

The episode concludes with Brandon Rodriguez Torrento ’21 reflecting on the impact of his study abroad experience, Phong Le ’03, associate professor and coordinator for Goucher’s Community-Based Learning Program, discussing Goucher’s curriculum and academic majors, and Jocelyn Reader ’02 sharing how her undergraduate science education at Goucher helped her pursue a career as a college professor.

“The idea for The College Tour TV series came to me from my 16-year-old niece. Because of the pandemic and finances, she wasn’t able to travel to tour colleges,” said Boylan, creator, and host of The College Tour. “So using our skills as executive producers, we created a series inspired by her and millions of other young people who are interested in attending college.”
