Total Cost of Attendance for Academic Year 2024-2025

Dear Goucher College students and parents,

I hope you are well and thriving in the new year with the spring semester off to a great start.

I know that many of you are as frustrated as we are with the delayed rollout of the new simplified FAFSA by the U.S. Department of Education. While we look forward to resolution of these issues by the federal government in the weeks ahead, I also want to make sure you have the additional information you will need to continue your education here at Goucher next academic year.

Today, I write to inform you that next academic year Goucher College's total cost of attendance will increase by a total of 3.89%. We believe this increase is reasonable given the 3.35% rate of inflation in the overall economy we saw this past year. This reflects a 4.1% increase in tuition and fees and a 3.24% increase in room and board.

We realize that no increase is ever welcome news, so we work hard to ensure that our financial aid offerings remain competitive. Over 97% of our students receive some form of financial aid at Goucher, and every year we award more than $44 million in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and federal work-study dollars to ensure that everyone can continue to have access to a high-quality education.

We are proud that you chose Goucher for our innovative academic experience, and we will continue to add programs and pathways to benefit all our students. This year we added a new undergraduate public health major, new graduate degree programs in environmental sustainability, digital communications, and applied policy analysis, as well as new graduate program partnerships with Johns Hopkins University, with more to come.

On the student housing front, our new contracts cover a 10-month period, from August to May, eliminating the need for separate housing applications and additional costs for students who want to stay on campus during the January term. Also, residential room rates now support a wide range of housing options and living arrangements, allowing us even more options to accommodate varying budgets.

Thank you for your continued support of Goucher College. We look forward to another successful year ahead.

Sincerely,

Kent Devereaux
President
