For outstanding efforts in academics, mentorship and leadership, Lalissie Eteffa '21 was named the recipient of The Maryland Daily Record's Top 100 Women Circle of Excellence Scholarship and Award. Her leadership roles on campus include the Black Student Union president and working as part of the Goucher Women of Color Coalition, the Student Engagement Team, Model UN, the Futuro Latino Learning Center, and as a First-Year Mentor.

Her writing, presentations and appearances have imparted an appreciation and awareness of the art of Japanese bonsai and the history of the cherry blossom trees, which remain an enduring symbol of the Japan-U.S. friendship.

After majoring in History and minoring in Secondary Education at Goucher, Webster went on to teach U.S. History at Crisfield Academy and High School. He currently serves as chair of the Social Studies department and participates in the school's Equity and Parent Advisory committees.
