COVID-19 Updates

To all residential students: We are writing to share details regarding the first phase of our plan for you to return to campus and pack your rooms. Please read the following information very carefully, as there are a lot of details regarding the process.

As we all move forward into unchartered territory, it is my goal that your connections to the Welch Center and Goucher College remain strong through your programs and courses. We continue to function effectively and efficiently, fully supported by staff working remotely, and by a virtual learning system and processes that have been in place for many years.

Dear Goucher Community, I'm writing now to give you an update on Goucher's response to the ever evolving COVID-19 pandemic. If you are like me, you have most likely been overwhelmed by all the news about the COVID-19 pandemic this past week and how quickly the crisis has evolved. This unprecedented situation has forced us to reevaluate many of the assumptions we made about the spread of the coronavirus only a week ago and respond accordingly with updated guidance on an almost daily basis.

In consultation with the eight Presidents of the Landmark Conference, the intercollegiate athletic conference of which Goucher College is a member, all scheduled Landmark competitions from Saturday, March 14 through Sunday, April 5 have now been postponed.

Goucher's graduate and professional programs delivered through the Welch Center will continue without interruption. Our Critical Incident Response Team has worked diligently to ensure that all systems and processes continue as we transition to fully online instruction and remotely delivered student support services.
