Baccalaureate 2025
The Baccalaureate Ceremony celebrating the Class of 2025 will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. in Haebler Memorial Chapel.
Please note: Due to the limited space in the Chapel, each graduating student will be allowed two guests inside. Additional family and friends are invited to watch a livestream of the event in Merrick Lecture Hall.
This annual tradition offers a quiet and intimate opportunity for graduating seniors to pause and reflect on their Goucher College Experience.
Baccalaureate is a tradition at many colleges and universities dating back to the 1400’s at Oxford University in England. We continue this tradition at Goucher through an interfaith ceremony featuring music, dance, poetry and reflection.
Baccalaureate is a powerful part of the graduation experience marking the significance
of this important time and reflecting on one’s collegiate journey. Faculty, staff,
graduates, friends, and families are highly encouraged to attend.

Our community of graduates, faculty, staff, family, and friends gathered virtually on May 21, 2020 to reflect and celebrate together through music, readings, and speakers.
Senator Cory Booker was this year's guest speaker. His dedication to justice and opportunity for all Americans
has brought millions of people together, and his emphasis on the importance of community,
service, and education rings true to our Goucher community principles.
