Elizabeth Ebert Wilson '29
As Chairman of the Hazardous Waste Manangement Project Legislative Conference, she
helped draft and pass Missouri's hazardous waste legislation. She also served on
the Governor's Task Forces on Dioxin and Hazardous Waste, as a member of the Open
Space Committee, and as Chairman of the Floodplain Committee.
When Betty Wilson was presented with the Misoouri Hazardous Waste Control Commission's
first individual award it was noted that " no other individual has done more to protect
Missouri's environment."

Our planet is under stress and our civilization is in trouble. Books in the library's
collection address the causes and scope of environmental degradation and explore possibilities
for remediating the damage and saving the earth.
