Chawton House Conference

A conference on private collections and and their role in libraries, was held at Chawton House Library, Chawton, Hampshire, England on July 19-20 2007. The event was jointly organised by Chawton House Library, the University of Southampton English Department, and Goucher College.

The conference focused on individual collectors of books and manuscripts and their collections. Presenters from Goucher included Carol Pippen and Arnie Sanders of the English Department, Jim Huff from the Library, and Victoria Van Hyning, Goucher '07.

Special Collections Librarian Gail McCormick was co-planner of this very successful conference.
