New Research from Dr. Draheim on Safety Seeking in Incarcerated Women
Dr. Amanda Draheim's first co-authored paper with a student mentee (Ishita Agarwal, who is first author) has been published in Archives of Women's Mental Health!
This article, titled "Seeking Safety for women in incarceration: A systematic review" examines the strengths and weaknesses of the literature examining the efficacy and effectiveness of Seeking Safety when implemented with justice-involved women. Seeking Safety is a therapeutic intervention designed to treat comorbid posttraumatic stress disorder and substance use disorder. Ishita initially wrote this review for an assignment in Dr. Draheim's Clinical Psychology class at Lawrence University. Ishita and Dr. Draheim have continued to collaborate on this paper (Dr. Draheim from Goucher College and Ishita from KCU College of Osteopathic Medicine) to facilitate its publication. Their hope is that this paper will inform more widespread utilization of evidence-based treatments such as Seeking Safety in forensic settings.
