Janine Bowen

ProfessorBusiness Management

Janine Bowen is Professor of Business Management at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland.  In 2019 she received the Goucher College award for Excellence in Teaching.  Dr. Bowen has been at Goucher for over 25 years, not only as a faculty member but also as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and as Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs.  Since her return to faculty status, she has taught hundreds of students in Organizational Behavior, Quantitative Reasoning for Business, Human Resource Management and Problem-Based Learning in Organizational Behavior.  In the words of her students, “She is knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated to helping us discover things about ourselves and others.”  Dr. Bowen is also an active scholar.  Recent book chapters and articles focus on emotion in organizations and business education, emotional labor in higher education, and diversity education.  She is also a certified group fitness instructor (Les Mills BodyPump and BodyStep as well as STRONG by Zumba).

Dr. Bowen leads workshops at Goucher College for faculty, staff and students on organizational behavior and teamwork.  She also teaches group fitness classes open to everyone in the Goucher community.
