The M.A. in Policy Analytics program (M.A.P.A.) is designed to equip students with a broad and practical set of data analysis skills that can be used to understand and address real-world issues across areas of expertise, industry sectors, or policy areas. Specifically, students will be trained to analyze a wide range of data, create clear and compelling visualizations, and effectively communicate findings to real-world problems with a wide audience through writing and public discussion.
The Master of Arts program aims to prepare students to be adaptable and proficient
in data-driven decision-making and policy evaluation. By fostering a collaborative
and hands-on learning environment, the program helps students develop the tools and
confidence needed to analyze complex problems and apply their knowledge and insights
in professional, academic, and public settings.
Rooted in a commitment to equity and evidence-based decision-making, Goucher’s M.A. in Policy Analytics brings together the tools of data analysis and the principles of public policy to address pressing social issues. What sets our program apart is its interdisciplinary and justice-oriented approach: rather than focusing solely on data or policy, we equip students with the skills to collect and manage complex data and, just as importantly, to understand and communicate those findings clearly and ethically to diverse audiences.

The M.A.P.A. program is designed for recent graduates, working professionals, and
others seeking to build skills in data and policy analysis. The program offers flexibility
and depth, combining data management, analysis, and visualization with courses in
economics, human behavior, and policy evaluation. The total estimated cost for the M.A.P.A. program is $39,800, based on current tuition
and fees for the 2025–2026 academic year. Applications for the Fall 2026 semester are due July 24th. Applicants will be required
to submit a resume, undergraduate transcript, a letter of recommendation, and a 2-
to 3-page statement of purpose discussing your interest in the program.
