Returning to Campus

Commuters and off-campus residents who wish to reside on-campus should contact the Office of Residential Life at ResidentialLife@goucher.edu to request on campus housing. Those students will then be waitlisted and assigned housing after the Room Draw process and only on a space available basis.

Moving Off Campus

Residential living is fundamental to the mission of the college and the Goucher student experience, and all full-time undergraduate students are required to live on campus and must participate in one of the college meal plans. Exceptions may be made for students who choose to commute from their permanent home address within 30 miles of Goucher's campus.

A one-time exception to our current residency requirement will be in place for the 2020-21 academic year. Students/families who are concerned about the health risks of returning to campus may request an exception to Goucher’s residency requirement. In addition, the geographic perimeter for commuter status has increased from 30 to 50 miles. Again, these changes are for the 2020-21 academic year only. Our current residency requirement will return for the 2021-22 academic year.

Students are cautioned not to sign a lease off-campus until after they have received permission to be released from their residential living requirement. Students who choose to live off-campus even after being denied will be financially responsible for room and board.
