Weather Update: Physical Campus Closing at 12 Noon on Monday, March 16
Dear Goucher Community,
Due to a significant severe weather threat forecasted for this afternoon and evening, Goucher College's physical campus will close early today, Monday, March 16, at 12:00 p.m.
Our meteorological service report has issued a high severe weather rating for today, with the following hazards expected:
- Severe thunderstorms later today may bring damaging winds, hail, and possible tornadoes, along with heavy rainfall that could cause flooding, followed by a sharp overnight temperature drop with potential icing.
Since this is Spring Break and classes are not in session, this closure primarily affects faculty, staff, and any students or residents currently on campus.
Schedule Updates
- Administrative Offices: All administrative offices will close early today. Essential employees should remain available as communicated by your supervisor. All other staff should work from home for the remainder of the day. Staff who are unable to work remotely should contact their supervisor.
- Residential Students: Students currently residing on campus should remain indoors, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours when severe weather risk is highest.
- Facilities and Events: Any scheduled campus activities or facility (including the Library) access this afternoon and evening are suspended.
The physical campus is expected to reopen during normal operating hours on Tuesday, March 17.

- Seek shelter immediately – move to basements, interior rooms, or lower-floor hallways away from windows.
