Goucher launches Pathways program to support diverse learners
Pathways at Goucher provides cohort programming that helps students develop useful skills and confidence.
Goucher College has launched Pathways at Goucher, which provides cohort programming to help students grow through action, develop useful skills, and gain the confidence to guide their own journey.
This high-touch mentoring program was designed after compiling years of qualitative data, requests, and interest, to support students’ varying academic, social, and physical regulation needs.
It has been intentionally designed to expose students to on-campus supports and wellness programs that aim to promote growth and develop habits. The overarching purpose of the Pathways program is to enhance student skill development, accountability, sense of belonging, and self-esteem through tailored support and mentorship. This program was designed by and will be directed by Christine Lake, assistant director of the Office of Accessibility Services, with collaborative efforts from Kathleen Hake, ACE’s academic coach.
Pathways at Goucher includes two options for students. The Discovery Path supports students who need help with organization and academics through intentional coaching and self-advocacy. The Mindful Path supports students with sensory needs through regulation practices and programming geared toward sensory decompression.
