Meet Our New Associate Director of Alumnae/i Engagement

Paisley Martin has worked in higher education for 12 years, most recently as the assistant director for residential education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). In this role, Paisley oversaw a team of 16 professional and graduate staff members as well as more than 100 student staff members. Over her nine years at UMBC, she served in multiple capacities within Residential Life, where she designed and executed multiday professional staff retreats, led weeks of training for student leaders, and overhauled the move-in process for 4,000 students. She has extensive experience planning large events and conferences, serving hundreds of participants, and managing volunteers across a wide range of needs.

Before moving to Maryland, Paisley spent three years in Georgia as an area coordinator in Residential Life at Kennesaw State University, where she supervised large teams, coordinated Welcome Week events (including a major concert), and organized a regional student staff conference. Paisley is originally from Northern Virginia and earned her master's degree in higher education administration and her bachelor of science in tourism and events management from George Mason University.

Outside of work, Paisley is a proud parent of three young children, three-and-a-half-year-old Liam and 15-month-old twins Olivia and Logan. She also has a dog, Kona, and cat, Penelope. She loves spending time with friends and family, visiting wineries, discovering new restaurants, and relaxing at the beach. A self-proclaimed Bravo reality TV enthusiast and Diet Coke lover, Paisley also enjoys teaching her children the Maryland tradition of eating blue crabs.

Paisley loves working on college campuses and is passionate about creating meaningful experiences that foster connection and engagement. She says, “I love designing opportunities that help students feel supported and inspired, and I am excited for the opportunity to engage with Goucher alumni and provide them with similarly impactful experiences. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that come with working at a private college and can’t wait to learn more about the Goucher experience.”
