Goucher Announces New 4+1 MBA Program with Loyola University Maryland

This new Goucher College undergraduate and Loyola University of Maryland graduate degree option will launch in Fall 2021 and is open to any incoming or current Goucher student.

Goucher College has announced a new partnership with Loyola University Maryland to create a 4+1 MBA program. This new undergraduate and graduate degree option will launch in Fall 2021 and is open to any incoming or current Goucher student. The new partnership will allow Goucher’s undergraduates to build on their liberal arts education with an advanced business degree.

“Expanding Goucher’s 4 + 1 programs with other respected national institutions provides our students the valuable opportunity to experience the rigorous liberal arts undergraduate experience for which Goucher is known and complement that with a range of well-regarded advanced degree opportunities,” said Elaine Meyer-Lee, Goucher College provost and senior vice president of academic affairs.

The immersive, experiential curriculum of Loyola’s Emerging Leaders MBA offers various real-world experiences, including corporate visits, mentoring, and internships. Throughout the one-year, full-time program, students participate in domestic and international field studies to explore emerging markets and experience new business climates and cultures firsthand.

“Loyola’s Emerging Leaders MBA is designed to provide a unique post-graduate educational experience for undergraduate students in our region and nationally,” said Kathleen Getz, P.h.D, dean of the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola. “As a neighbor institution, our partnership with Goucher creates pathways for the most academically talented students in our region to pursue a program that complements their degree right here in Baltimore.”

This partnership also provides a 15% tuition discount to Goucher students who qualify for Loyola’s streamlined, Fast Track admission process. Goucher students can apply to Fast Track admission after junior year or during senior year, provided certain GPA requirements are met.

“Upon the completion of their studies at Goucher College, students will possess the tools that allow them to achieve success,” says David Grossman, associate professor of International Business and Marketing. “By transitioning into the highly regarded graduate business program at Loyola University Maryland, which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), our students will be able to apply their knowledge and work with exceptional organizations.”

A virtual information session for students interested in applying for the program will occur on February 26, 2021 from 3 to 4 p.m.

This new 4+1 program is in addition to the dual degree programs Goucher launched in 2020 with Johns Hopkins University. Those programs offer Goucher students the opportunity to earn an undergraduate degree in any liberal arts major, as well as a master of science degree from Johns Hopkins in business analytics and risk management, information systems, health care management, finance, or marketing.
