Goucher College and Greater Baltimore Committee launch Leadership Café with Gov. Larry Hogan

The Leadership Café speaker series will feature top government officials and political leaders in state and federal government, as well as business executives.

Goucher College and the Greater Baltimore Committee are proud to announce Leadership Café, a speaker series program featuring top government officials and political leaders in state and federal government, as well as business executives.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan will lead off the series as the guest speaker at the first event, November 2.

The series will take place on the first Tuesday of each month, November 2, 2021 to May 3, 2022, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the Hyman Forum in Ungar Athenaeum on the Goucher College campus. All events will include 30 minutes for questions and answers posed by members of the audience, including students.

Mileah Kromer, associate professor of political science and the director of the Sarah T. Hughes Center for Politics at Goucher College, and Donald C. Fry, President and CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee, will moderate the series.

Members of the media, Greater Baltimore Committee members, and students and faculty at Goucher College are invited to attend. Seating is limited.

Hughes Center for Politics are synonymous with providing neutral, unbiased, and independent information on Marylander’s opinions through the widely respected Goucher College Poll,” said Kent Devereaux, Goucher College President. “Expanding on that expertise to create Leadership Café with the Greater Baltimore Committee will allow regional business leaders to engage in dialogue with politicians and policymakers about the topics and ideas most relevant to our community.” 

Fry said, “The GBC has a history of engaging often with leading experts and officials in the top ranks of the private-sector and government to provide private-sector solutions to challenging public sector issues. We are excited to partner with Goucher College to launch this series featuring leading experts who can provide insight on topics of vital current interest in our state, region and nation.”

The Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) is a regional organization of business and civic leaders that includes businesses, nonprofit organizations, and educational and civic institutions. It is the leading voice for the private sector in the Baltimore region on issues relating to economic growth, job creation, workforce development, transportation, the business climate, and quality of life. The GBC’s membership is comprised of over 500 member organizations, including large, mid-size and small companies, nonprofits, education, and foundations in the Greater Baltimore region. 

Registration is required. Attendees must be fully vaccinated and face masks will be worn.
