Goucher College and CCBC partner for Degrees to Succeed Program
New program streamlines transferring from associate to bachelor’s degree

Goucher College and the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) have announced a partnership for the Degrees to Succeed program, which will allow students to be dually admitted to CCBC and Goucher College. This partnership will create a seamless, frictionless pathway for community college students pursuing their four-year bachelor’s degree completion.
This robust partnership guarantees students admission to Goucher, offers personalized co-advising at both institutions, ensures seamless credit transfer, and provides tuition savings. Goucher’s commitment to transfer students has been recognized by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, which included the college on its Transfer Honor Roll for providing strong transfer pathways that help transfer students achieve excellence and success.
“Providing equity and access to a high-quality higher education experience is core to Goucher’s mission and the Degrees to Succeed partnership with CCBC is a direct connection to those founding community principles,” says Dr. Michael Marshall, vice president for enrollment and student success at Goucher College. “We are incredibly proud and excited to offer students the opportunity to transfer with confidence and to earn their bachelor’s degree at Goucher College while experiencing our nationally recognized teaching excellence, renowned study abroad, community-based learning, and internship opportunities.”
Through an innovative curriculum and emphasis on providing a global perspective, Goucher supports students who are eager to be changemakers and make a difference in their communities and the world. Goucher prioritizes student success and outcomes with experiential learning and career preparation woven into the undergraduate experience. The college’s close-knit community provides students easy access to faculty mentors and individualized attention.
“We are excited to partner with Goucher College to help CCBC students accelerate their path toward a bachelor’s degree,” said CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis, Ph.D. “Degrees to Succeed reflects a true ‘one student, two schools, one journey' approach. Students have peace of mind knowing they have already been accepted into Goucher with the successful completion of their associate degree. This partnership ensures a smooth transition, allowing students to become part of the Goucher community early with access to advisors and select campus events.”
Goucher will offer students participating in the Degrees to Succeed program the opportunity to block transfer up to 64 credits and allow for junior standing upon entry. Comprehensive financial aid packages will include up to $35,000 in annual merit scholarships, plus additional awards for Phi Theta Kappa members, Honors College participants, and associate degree completion. Full-tuition coverage for Maryland community college students eligible for the Guaranteed Access Grant or Pell (MD Advantage) is also available.
The program offers students limited access to Goucher facilities and events while enrolled in CCBC, and eligibility for Goucher’s renowned global education programs, including short-and long-term study abroad. Dedicated student success resources will also include pre-transfer advising and ongoing success advising to support degree completion, as well as transfer-specific orientation and peer mentoring through Transfer Goucher Guides. The partnership will also offer CCBC employees 20% tuition discount on Goucher graduate programs to support professional development.
To be eligible for the Degrees to Succeed program, students must have a high school diploma or equivalent, enroll in an associate degree program at CCBC, and enroll in the Degrees to Succeed Program within their first year at CCBC or prior to earning 45 credits.
