Campus Weather Update: Tuesday, Jan 27, Classes & Return to Campus
Dear Goucher Community,
This message provides an update on Tuesday, January 27, classes and guidance for returning to campus following the winter storm.
Classes
In-person classes will not be held on Tuesday, January 27. Professors who teach Tuesday in-person classes will contact their students with specific instructions on how the initial content will be covered to best start the course, inclusive of all students considering potential travel and power challenges. Online and hybrid courses with scheduled virtual meetings will proceed as normal unless otherwise specified by the professor.
Spring undergraduate in-person classes are slated to begin on Wednesday, January 28. For any students prevented from attending in-person classes due to weather conditions, we will follow established procedures under the academic notification of absences policy (PDF).
Due to the impact of the winter storm, the add/drop dates will be extended by two (2) days to February 3 without an advisor’s approval and February 10 with it: https://www.goucher.edu/registrar/important-dates-2025-2026.
Return to Campus
All residential students may return to campus. Please continue to exercise good judgment and prioritize your safety when traveling. Surfaces on campus may still be slippery in some areas.
Administrative Offices
As a reminder, administrative offices will be closed through Tuesday with only essential employees' reporting as required. Managers will notify employees who are designated as essential. All other administrative staff and faculty should work from home. Staff who are unable to work remotely should contact their supervisor.
We anticipate the physical campus and all offices will reopen for in-person operations on Wednesday, January 28.
