Physical Campus to Remain Closed: Tuesday, January 27, 2026

Dear Goucher Community,

Due to the predicted aftermath of the winter storm, Goucher College’s physical campus will remain closed through Tuesday, January 27, 2026, to all except for residents and essential employees. The clean-up is expected to take time throughout Baltimore and the region, and we want to ensure a safe and orderly beginning of the semester. Please exercise good judgment and prioritize your safety.

Classes & Events

Please be advised that a decision regarding whether undergraduate in-person classes for Tuesday will be virtual or canceled will be communicated Monday by 12 noon, along with updates on move-in. As a reminder, professors who normally teach in-person classes on Monday will contact their students with specific instructions on how initial content will be covered to best start the course. Online and hybrid courses with scheduled virtual meetings will proceed as normal unless otherwise specified by the professor.

All campus-sanctioned events are canceled through Tuesday unless specified, including all organized athletic practices, meetings, and competitive events.

Administrative Offices

Administrative offices will be closed through Tuesday with only essential employees' reporting as required. Managers will notify employees who are designated as essential. All other administrative staff and faculty should work from home. Staff who are unable to work remotely should contact their supervisor.

Campus Services

Campus Safety, Facility Management Services (FMS), Dining Services, and Residential Life staff remain operational. We continue to express our deepest gratitude to the essential staff who report to work within these departments as directed by their supervisor. FMS will treat sidewalks and roadways, monitor campus conditions, and provide updates as necessary. For any facilities-related issues, please call or text FMS at (410) 337-6166.

The library will be closed.

Dining Services

Mary Fisher Dining Hall and the Student Market will operate normal hours of service to support students on campus.

Safety Precautions

Employees and students who may be on campus should exercise particular caution, as surfaces may be slippery. Please contact Campus Safety at (410) 337-6111 for any immediate urgent safety concerns.

Staying Informed

Please prioritize your safety.

Stay safe,
