Each Goucher Video Application will be closely reviewed by an admissions counselor and a faculty member, using the criteria below. They then will make recommendations regarding acceptance to a larger review committee. 

Video Evaluation Criteria

Videos will be evaluated on the following criteria and given a mark on a scale of 1-5 (1 being absent and 5 being extraordinary).

Content/Thoughtfulness (10 points*)

Do we get a sense of who you are, a window to your world? Do you demonstrate you can think in-depth, and is your response well thought out?
Structure/Organization (5 points) Are your ideas presented in a logical, interesting, or otherwise appropriate way? Can we see how your ideas are connected?
Clarity/Effectiveness (5 points) Can we understand the thoughts you are trying to convey? Did we think you were convincing?

Written Work Evaluation Criteria

Written works will be evaluated on the following criteria and given a mark on a scale of 1-5 (1 being absent and 5 being extraordinary).

Criteria (Total points possible) Definition
Purpose/Thought (5 points) Does the paper have an immediate and direct sense of purpose, and are the arguments and support meaningful and substantial?
Grammar/Structure (5 points) Is the paper free of grammatical errors, and is it presented in a clear and logical way?

Additional High School Work Criteria

Additional works will be evaluated with this main question in mind: Does this work demonstrate college readiness? Work will be given a mark on a scale of 1-5 (1 being absent and 5 being extraordinary).
