Goucher College offers special-interest houses (wellness, language, peace, environmental sustainability, gaming) and on-campus apartments, all of which require an application. Returning residential students who are not interested in application-based housing participate in general room draw, which is conducted each April for the fall semester. Each student is randomly assigned a computer-generated lottery number to establish priority within his or her class, with the lowest number having the highest priority. To hold a room assignment through the summer, students must be registered for a full-time academic load (a minimum of 12 credits) for the upcoming fall semester, and they must have paid both room and enrollment deposits by stated deadlines, have registered for class, be free of holds on their accounts, and live on campus.
