Vice President for Communications
Allie Laban-Baker brings more than 25 years of communications and marketing experience to her role as vice president for communications at Goucher. Previously, Allie served as vice president for global communications at AMD Alliance International, a worldwide consortium of organizations concerned with macular disease. Allie also served for nine years as senior director of communications and marketing for The Foundation Fighting Blindness. In addition, her experience includes work in the corporate world as manager of external relations for Choice Hotels International. Allie began her career as a television reporter and lived in Vienna, Austria, where she worked for an international Olympic organization. Allie earned her bachelor of arts degree from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, where she studied communications and broadcast journalism. Allie and her husband Norman live just outside of Baltimore. They both enjoy golf, cross- country skiing, and playing the violin for the Symphony of the Potomac.
Director of Marketing Communications
Stephanie Jayakanthan is the director of marketing communications. Previously, she worked in marketing and public relations for the performing arts field, where she helped increase overall ticket sales as well as subscriptions. She began her career as a journalist in Washington, DC, where she wrote for multiple outlets across multiple platforms. Stephanie has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Oral Roberts University and a master’s in philosophy from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Her husband also works in higher education, and they live in the city with their son.
As Goucher College's Webmaster, John Perrelli manages the college's web presence and coordinates web development efforts in support of administrative and academic departments. He is available as a consultant and to assist students, faculty, staff and alumnae/i with their Web development initiatives.
|Senior Director of Communications
Kristen Pinheiro has been at Goucher College since 2005 and is the senior director of communications. Previously, Kristen spent nearly eight years with a Maryland daily newspaper as an editor of magazines, special supplements, and the weekly arts and entertainment edition. She earned a bachelor of arts in literature and French at Washington College in Chestertown and a master of education at Goucher.
