Attending Our Reception:
Dr. Julie Jeffrey

Julie Roy Jeffrey is a professor emerita and former member of the history department at Goucher College where she offered courses in American history and Historic Preservation.  She received several Fulbright awards and taught at the University of Utrecht, the University of Southern Denmark, and the University of Rome as well as at the University of Exeter where she supervised Goucher students.  Her scholarly work has focused on nineteenth century women, especially those involved in missionary work and abolitionist reform.  Most recently, she has studied dissent in the North during the Civil War.
