Phases to Return

The phases will begin June 1, 2020. Exact dates may vary by office or program and will be communicated by leadership for each specific area. Directions regarding each phase may change as new information or official recommendations become available and will be communicated to all community members.

The college will use a staggered attendance approach to our return to on-campus activities. For example, in an office with four employees, two may work onsite one week while the other two work remotely; the next week they may switch. Flexible policies, such as Telecommuting and Interim Public Health Leave, will remain in effect until further notice.

Goucher’s Return to Campus Plan

Current status

Only facilities/operations staff deemed essential in maintaining the campus in working order. All other employees working remotely.

Phase 1

Gradual return of all Facilities Management Services and Operations staff as directed by their leadership. New provost and new VP for advancement start. No change to other staffing.

Phase 2

Return of some staff in student-facing offices with staggered attendance as able and communicated by leadership. New VP of operations.

Phase 1

Return of staff, based on onsite needs, as communicated by leadership; most other employees will continue to work remotely. New VP and dean of students, and new CFO start.

Phase 4

Return of all other staff and faculty based on onsite needs, and as communicated by leadership; remote work and learning will continue, as appropriate until further notice.
