Mat Class Descriptions
Open Level Mat Classes
Beginner classes are for those without prior experience with Authentic Pilates® and serve as an introduction to the exercises and principles of Pilates.
Level 1 Mat Classes
A great class for anyone new to Pilates. If you have never taken Classical Pilates mat classes before, this is where you should start!
Level 2 Mat Classes
For the experienced beginner. Solidify your foundational practice and move into the intermediate work.
Level 2/3 Mat Classes
Experienced Beginner classes continue with the basics emphasizing correct form and alignment while developing flow of movement.
Level 3 Mat Classes
For those at an intermediate level. Deepen your knowledge of your body and the Pilates method.
Level 3/4 Mat Classes
Continue your intermediate mat work and develop more strength and flexibility. Here you will learn the rest of the intermediate mat. This level is designed for those who have a thorough knowledge base of Classical Pilates.
Level 4 Mat Classes
For the strong intermediate practitioner. Start to learn the advanced Pilates mat under the supportive direction of our expert instructors.
Level 4/5 Mat Classes
This is a high Intermediate/advanced class. These classes build upon the foundation created in the lower level classes. Challenging exercises and variations are added and tempo increases.
Level 5 Mat Classes
For those with a solid knowledge of the advanced Pilates mat. Continue to hone your practice and become more independent in your workout.
Level 6 Mat Classes
For the Pilates Superstar! A deep understanding of the Pilates method and the needs of your own body are required.
Intermediate (Level 2-6). Learn to challenge your workout with your magic circle. This prop helps you feel the challenge of the Pilates mat while helping you connect more deeply into your body.
Taking Care of Your Spine
An Open Level (1-3) Mat class addressing what is needed to truly take care of your spine in the Pilates workout. Bring your mind into your body, find that powerhouse, learn more about your body!
Return to Life Mat
Advanced Level (4-6) Directly from Joe Pilates' book Return to Life. We do the Mat like Joe intended on Saturdays! Challenge your mind + body, modify as needed!
Intermediate (Level 3-6). This class is for those who have their own spine corrector or small barrel made by GRATZ, Pilates Designs, or Pilates Lineage. Learn how to use this piece of apparatus and dive deeper into the Pilates method to strengthen and lengthen your body.
