Meet with OIS

Before meeting with a study abroad advisor, students must attend a Study Abroad 101 session in OIS. The session is led by OIS advisors and/or returnee Goucher Study Abroad Students, the session lasts approximately 30 minutes. Study Abroad 101 covers topics such as how to explore program options, apply for a study abroad program, obtain academic credit for study abroad, and organize financial matters. Study Abroad 101s are always happening and the Study Abroad 102s are on the listed dates here.

After attending a Study Abroad 101:

  • Students interested in participating in a semester study abroad program must attend a Study Abroad 102 session. This session, led by a study abroad advisor, will provide students with more specific information about the region, program, and application process. Study Abroad 101 and 102 are mandatory for students interested in a semester study abroad program.
  • Students interested in participating in a faculty led ICA short-term (summer/winter) program, must meet with an ICA program director via its ICA-specific information session or individually with a program director. The program directors contact information can be found here. NOTE: There aren't any Study Abroad 102 sessions for this type of study abroad program.
  • Students interested in participating in a non-Goucher short-term (summer/winter) program must confirm with the short-term study abroad advisor which non-Goucher short-term study abroad program is desired. A list of pre-approved non-Goucher program providers are listed here.
