PBPM Faculty Profile:

Ruquia Ahmed-Schofield

Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry

"The professors and administrators are very skilled folks who are passionate about their work. The bottom line is that we really care about the students. Our desire is for each and every student to be successful."

After obtaining her doctoral degree in chemistry, Dr. Ahmed-Schofield moved to New Orleans and taught undergraduate chemistry for nearly twenty years.  In 2008, she returned to Maryland to teach at Goucher where she studied as an undergrad. She has the same office that her organic chemistry professor had when she was a student.  She enjoys mentoring students and helping to create a learning environment that is both challenging and congenial.
