AP 521.100 Bryan Borah
This online course is designed to maximize teachers’ experience, providing relevant AP content and pedagogy through meaningful engagement – all focused on best practices for preparing your AP students for success. Important: This course will cover all of the aspects of the AP English Language and Composition class expectations and exam. The course will guide teachers in developing syllabi and strategies in critical thinking and writing. The course will be interactive with the sharing of ideas and building of argument units, using a variety of sources from non-fiction. Study of the AP Language and Composition examination will include College Board materials to provide greater understanding of the content and scoring of the multiple-choice section. Synthesis, analysis, and individual argument essay samples will give participants the opportunity to assess writing skills and discuss techniques that can be used to produce quality writing.
William Bryan Borah
Bryan Borah taught AP English Language and Composition and Literature and Composition in the Fairfax County Public Schools, Fairfax, Virginia. He participated in the writing of the first English Vertical Teams text and contributed to the second edition. His association with the College Board as a consultant began in 1992. He has read the Language exam for nine years and has taught many summers at English AP Institutes in both the Southwest and Southern Regions of the College Board. Bryan has taught AP English Language and Composition and English 11 Honors to online students in Colorado and Fairfax.
