Marisa Sanders is Assistant Director of the Prehealth Advising Office at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. She brings with her a background of both working in healthcare and the arts. She is a certified speech-language pathologist and prior to her arrival at Goucher in 2019, she worked at the Johns Hopkins Voice Center at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where she specialized in voice and breathing disorders. Marisa is an active speaker at universities and conferences, providing education on vocal, physical, and mental preparation methods for public speaking. Before her career in speech pathology, she worked as a professional theatre actor in New York City and Chicago. She holds a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Clemson University.
