Jazmine Contreras is an Assistant Professor of History at Goucher College. She completed her doctorate in Modern Dutch and European History at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Her research examines the development of contemporary Holocaust and World War II memorial culture in the Netherlands within the larger framework of European and international Holocaust initiatives. At Goucher, her classes have focused on European History, transnational imperial and racial dynamics, and enriching engagement with nations, people, and groups not always afforded adequate attention. Before arriving at Goucher, she held a research fellowship at the German Historical Institute in Amsterdam. Her teaching interests include 20th century Europe, Holocaust and genocide studies, gender and sexuality, and modern global history.
