Center for Dance, Music, & Theatre
The Center for Dance, Music, and Theatre at Goucher College fosters curious, innovative
creators, performers, and thinkers. We transform students into engaged artists and
lifelong learners through mentorship that synthesizes traditional and contemporary
skills, technologies, and philosophies. The center offers a major and minor in Dance,
a minor in Theatre, as well as a concentration in Arts Administration.

Join him for the 2019 Fisher Music Residency for a lecture-recital, a master class with Goucher piano students, and a recital featuring…whatever he decides, with the help of the audience!

The Goucher College Choirs present “Peaceful Songs,” a program of choral music spanning five centuries. Each piece conveys a peaceful expression invoking themes of sunlight, moonlight, devotion, community, and justice from a wide range of sacred and secular texts from around the world.
The Chamber Singers will begin the concert with masterworks from composers throughout music history, including Tallis, Telemann, Brahms, and Mendelssohn. The Goucher Chorus will present Fauré’s ethereal Cantique de Jean Racine, and as the keynote work of the concert, Impressionist prodigy Lili Boulanger’s Hymne au Soleil. The concert will close with songs of peace from Jewish, Islamic, Hindu, and Shaker traditions.
The performance will be held on Thursday, November 14, at 8pm in the Haebler Memorial Chapel at Goucher College. Admission is free and open to all.

Goucher dancers will perform a work by Goucher Assistant Professor Iquail Shaheed. The program will also feature Goucher dancers performing works by guest artists Nicole Haskins, and Urban Bush Women.

The advanced choreography students will showcase original works set on Goucher dancers and will present in a stuio-theatre environment. Students in the course will each share their unique choreographic vision.

Join the Goucher College Choirs & Chaplain’s Office for the Annual Service of Lessons and Carols on Monday, December 2nd at 7pm in the Haebler Memorial Chapel. Ring in the season by attending this service of music and readings featuring Goucher students, faculty, and staff. The choirs and audience will since many well-known carols, and the choirs will also present carols from different parts of the world. The service is free and open to all.
