Doris Humphrey Foundation for Dance

The Doris Humphrey Foundation for Dance was established at Goucher College in 2008 to honor this pioneer of American modern dance through education and promotion of her works.

The foundation controls the licensing rights of 23 Humphrey works. The foundation's advisory committee is establishing artistic standards of performance for these works and will determine who may perform them.

It also maintains the Doris Humphrey Collection, which includes memorabilia ranging from costumes to original music scores. The collection is on display and available for research purposes in the Goucher College Library Archives.

The foundation's educational efforts include the Doris Humphrey Institute, a week-long summer dance program at Goucher College.
