Academic Accommodations

Goucher provides many types of academic support services to qualified students with disabilities. Goucher’s Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) works closely with Goucher’s Academic Center for Excellence to implement necessary accommodations, which may include providing extended test time, access to a reduced distraction testing area, assistive technology, note-takers and other services that are available to all students, including academic coaching, supplemental instruction and tutoring.

To apply for an academic accommodation, please complete the online accommodation request form. For students with learning disabilities and/or attention deficit disorders, a psycho-educational evaluation may be required. Students are also welcome to upload 504 and IEP documentation to support their evidence of need.

After a student has completed their online request for accommodations AND submitted documentation, OAS will reach out to the student via email to arrange for an intake meeting or note if additional documentation is needed. Accommodations are not effective until the completion of request, documentation, intake and then receipt of a decision letter from OAS.
