Directions to the Baltimore Inner Harbor

Baltimore's Inner Harbor is one of the city's most exciting destinations.  Within it are tons of shops, restaurants, the National Aquarium, the Hard Rock Cafe, as well as loads of other fun stuff just waiting to be discovered.  But none of that does you any good if you don't know how to get there.  That's where we come in.  Here are all the different ways you can get there, short of teleportation.

By Car
*Plan about 20 minutes travel time for this trip by car.

  • Turn RIGHT out of Goucher's front gate on to Dulaney Valley Road.
  • Take 695 WEST (towards Pikesville).
  • Merge on to I-83 SOUTH, EXIT 23A.
  • Follow I-83 SOUTH until the expressway ends at Exit 1 (Fayette Street).  I-83 SOUTH becomes President Street.  Continue on President Street.
  • Turn RIGHT on to Lombard Street.
  • Make a LEFT turn onto Light Street.  If you hit Charles Street, you've gone too far.
  • Travel one block to Pratt Street.  Turn LEFT onto Pratt Street.
  • The Inner Harbor will be on your RIGHT.
  • You can park cheap at Port Discovery near the Havanna Club, or just look around for a free spot on the street.

By MTA Bus
*Plan about one hour for travel time.

  • Take Bus #11 to the Liberty/Baltimore stop.
  • Transfer to Bus # 3, ride one stop to the Charles/Pratt Stop.
  • The Harbor is a short walk heading EAST.

Sundays: Bus #11 does not come on to campus on Sundays.  An alternate route to the Inner Harbor is to take Bus #8 (picks up in front of Hecht's at Towson Town Center) to the Inner Harbor stop.

By MTA Light Rail
*This method is not as convenient as others because there is not a light rail station within walking distance of the college, but if you can get to the light rail station, it is very convenient.

  • Take the Light Rail SOUTHBOUND from the Lutherville Station (directions to the Lutherville station can be found here, courtesy of Mapquest.com.  Or take the #8 Bus, which picks up in front of Hecht's at Towson Town Center)
  • Get off at the Convention Center stop.
  • Walk EAST along Pratt Street for several blocks.  The Inner Harbor will be on your right.

Collegetown Shuttle
On Friday & Saturdays, you can take the Collegetown Shuttle to the Inner Harbor.
