Bronwyn Akeley
Major: Theatre
Originally from Glyndon, MD, Akeley explored the technical side of theatre at Goucher, alternately serving as assistant stage manager, stage manager, and director for several campus productions. She's currently working as a stage management intern at Florida Stage.
Since her graduation from Goucher, Bronwyn Akeley's life has been about sunshine, sand, and stage management--in West Palm Beach, FL. Akeley currently works as a stage management intern for Florida Stage, a not-for-profit professional theatre that produces contemporary works by established and emerging playwrights.
Akeley's Florida Stage duties are a natural continuation of the technical theatrical training she began at Goucher. Her daily workload includes rehearsal management, learning about equity theatre, and stage managing New Voices, a program that allows young playwrights to hear their works performed as staged readings.
After learning the ropes at Florida Stage and a few other companies, Akeley hopes to join a professional theatre as a full-time main stage manager.
