Summer Housing Information

Dates, Contracts and Fees

Limited summer housing is available on-campus between the dates of Wednesday, May 31 and Friday, August 4, 2006. The location of summer housing will be in Sondheim House.  The summer residence fee will be $650.00. Only those students who have paid summer housing fees in full will be considered for summer housing. Summer residence fees are not prorated for shorter terms of residency. Any current Goucher student registered for the fall semester may apply for summer housing, although priority is given to those students enrolled in internships, involved in research, or working on campus. Those not falling into one of these categories should return their completed application and payment. They will be considered for summer housing as space permits. All students who are approved for summer housing will be notified on May 12. Students will be able to elect their top three room preferences for summer residence on their housing application. In the case where a particular room is requested by numerous residents, preference will be granted according to class standing.   Click here to email the Office of Community Living.

Intercession Housing

For those residents residing on campus during the main summer session, housing will be available during the inter-session from May 20 through May 30 for a small fee of $75.00 (graduation week, May 19 through May 19, is included for summer residents at no charge). Intersession residents will remain in their current room until their summer room is ready. Students need to be prepared to move as soon as their summer room is cleaned and prepared. The Office of Residence Life will notify students as soon as this move is possible. No housing is available on-campus after August 4.

Summer Housing Applications

Applications will be available on this site on April 17, 2006 or the Office of Community Living.  You must have appropriate signatures on your application to document your summer commitments prior to submitting your application. We cannot guarantee space for any individual or for any particular commitment. We will continue to accept applicants until summer housing is full and we will begin a wait list beyond this point.  Applications for summer housing should be returned by Friday, May 5.

Summer Housing Policies

Summer residents are expected to abide by the conditions of the residence hall contract, and the policies presented in Living on Campus: A Handbook for Residential Living, the Campus Handbook, and other relevant college documents. The resident’s current residence hall contract is extended through the summer session. Additionally, during the intersession period, overnight guests are not permitted for security reasons. Violations of a major or minor nature could result in immediate removal from summer housing.
