President Ungar began the practice of "open hours" upon his arrival to Goucher College in 2001 to give members of the Goucher community an opportunity to speak with him directly and openly about important issues facing the college. Over the course of his tenure at the college, he has found that open hours are a critical tool for fostering dialogue among -- and receiving feedback from -- the various campus constituencies.
Each semester, an updated schedule of President Ungar's open hours, and the location, will be posted below. All times are subject to change. Open office hours are usually held at the President's office in 201 Dorsey Center, but there have been occasions in the fall and spring semesters when office hours are held in the gazebo, located across from the Chapel and the Alumnae/i House.
No appointment is necessary, no subject is off limits, and President Ungar will meet with students, faculty, and staff in the order of their arrival between the indicated times. The only thing he asks is that no meeting last for more than 10 minutes when there are others waiting to see him.
If you have any questions relating to President Ungar's office hours, please contact his assistant, Judy Woods, at jwoods@goucher.edu.
Please note the following times in the next days and weeks when I will be available in my office in Dorsey Center to see anyone who would like to talk with me. No subject is off limits; no appointments are necessary. If there is a line, I would ask that each visitor take only ten minutes; we can always schedule a time to continue talking.
