The first-year mentor is an additional resource person specializing in the transitional needs and challenges specific to new students. Assistance with general academic skills, including study skills and time management, can be provided for a specified period of time primarily through weekly one-on-one meetings with student trained mentors or professional staff at the
Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) .
